NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 11. Bulk reel: 462. Location: Hacienda La Estrella, Canada El Gordo, ca. San Jose, Dto. Perija. Weather: Fair. Calls by young birds, perhaps food-begging. (At least one was seen and it was still app. in the juvenal plumage and very soft and [illegible]. Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. 203 tape. Low noise. Re-recorded from Nagra 4.2 to Nagra IV. Then calls by adults baiting an Ornate Hawk-Eagle perched in a tree. (Beginning at ~ 30" the eagle is heard to "sing.") Quality: 1. Level: +2. The jays' calls change when the eagle flew.
