NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 13. Bulk reel: 421.
R. v. vitellinus by book range, but the only bird seen well in this place was an obvious intergrade between R. v. vitellinus and R. v., culminatus: had "sunburst" pattern on breast but ~ medium, i.e. paler, not as red as true v.; upper tail coverts yellow, ridge of culmen was apparently black but not 100% certain due specular reflection; bare facial skin apparently blue. Bordering red band was app. fairly wide.
a) 7:50 AM. Weather: Clear. Natural calls. Quality: 2-3. Level: +5. 3 3/4".
b) 4:40 PM. Fair, but rain nearby. Natural calls later, perhaps different individual. Quality: 2-3. Level: +5. 3 3/4".
c) 5:20 PM. Fair, but rain nearby. This is continued from R. tucanus Cut 14 d) and this species heard in background. (Latter part better for R. vitellinus.) Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. 7.5".
