NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 408
a) Natural "calls" (= song?). (In background is Coryphotriccus parvus [Conopias parva]. Quality: 1. Level: +10.
b) Natural "calls" (= song?) by male and then vocalizations with female too. Quality: 1-2, 1. Level +10.
c) After an interruption, while I recorded Euphonia chrysopasta, this is more of same as in b) but in addition some "wing-whirr" displays by male. A female was present and she also made bit of "wing-whirr." This recording continues as Cut 16) of Euphonia chrysopasta. Quality: 1. Level: +10.
d) After playback, excited calling. At one time there were at least three males sitting close together and calling excitedly at each other. None of these appear to have the typical long tail. Therefore to be sure of identification, I collected one male (#6653) and one female (#6649). The latter was in good fresh plumage but the male was in full molt and no doubt the others were too. Quality: 1. Level: +10.
