NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 390. 203 tape. Weather: Fair. "Song" recorded "running wild." Quality: 2. Level: +6. 203 tape. LN. No parabola. Identification is by type of song and habitat. I am not familiar with the song of this species and could not see the bird sing. This species was seen in the area. Note: the interval between the phrases was much longer (by several minutes) than filed here. Many other bird voices heard, especially Melanerpes rubricapillus; in latter part: Xiphorhynchus picus, Icterus icterus, Colinus cristatus, Saltator coerulescens. This pigeon's voice is not very different from C. canennensis.
Identification confirmed by later recordings, not yet filed. 2/12/76 PAS.
