Notes

NOTES: 09APR35 AND 14APR35. [This recording contains almost constant "kent" or "kint" calls with the quality of a somewhat nasal horn (the BEST examples are at 2:15-2:42 and 9:44-9:55). In a few places is what I suspect is "Social Chatter," which almost takes on the quality of calling by Sitta canadensis (3:14-3:39, 3:48-3:57, 9:55-10:26 - the latter by far the BEST example of this vocalization). Although there is some tapping (e.g., 3:19-3:21, 4:10-4:18, 9:42-9:44), there is no Drumming here. At 3:24 there is a brief wing flutter. There is a "cryptic" stop-start at 3:57. Quality changed from 3-2 to 2, 2-3 (there is some crackling thoughout, but in places the signal is quite good, especially considering the age of the recording) - CAM - 22 April 2005]
