NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 32. Bulk reel: 377
Weather: Cloudy (was clear during night).
On site 5:20 AM. Clear during night, full moon, but now has cloudy over [sic].
First calls @ 5:35 AM, then calling became fairly general ~ 5:38, then stopped except for this bird recorded. All birds were below the path, mostly far down but two fairly close, one of which being recorded, then it displayed.
Then there was some movement back and forth among the two near birds, some "ao" calling, some conflict calling. Then birds became silent and were so at 5:00 AM. But then a conflict situation developed and this is recorded. This calling bird left with a "flight scream" but the silent bird remained until I moved and it then flew with very noisy flight and "flight scream."
"Ao" calling by one bird. Then a display. Quality: 2. Level: +10.
Then conflict calling (one bird calling but two birds present). Quality: 1. Level: +8, +5.
No recording: 3 June 1969. Birds active at least since 5:30 AM (part full moon; therefore sky light) but activity not great. A little calling, some displaying, b ut activity generally stopped by 5:45 AM.
