NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 20. Bulk reel: 375
Weather: Hazy clear. (Moon.) This is the first I've heard birds down in this area since arriving ~ 10 days previously. Birds were displaying at least as early 6:00 AM (no calls heard). This recording starts with some "mild conflict" calls and displays, birds ~ 200 m. to E of me (also a bit of "courtship greeting"). Quality: 2-3. Level: +10.
Then birds closer. Flight screams, "mild conflict calls," displays, ascending series whistle. The birds kept approaching nearer to me in their activities. Quality: 2-3 to 2. Level: +5.
Final display is best, bird closest. Quality: 1-2. Level: +5.
A pair of these birds then collected a short while later as they were foraging together (male #7049, female #7050).
