NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 19. Bulk reel: 372. Weather: light cloudy. [data make this recording appear to be in 4 sections. mf] I'm not certain that all the sounds on this cut are of "granti". The 1st hoarse calls are of "granti", also the liquid calls, I believe. NOTE the vocal reaction of the bird when a whing-whirr is heard nearby. After the call of Nyctibius griseus approximately 60 seconds of silence was edited out, then hear the hoarse calls again, and then another bird in distance calls but seems definitely to be marail. Meanwhile the close "hoarse" and "liquid" bird (or birds) continue to be heard. Then about 2 minutes was edited out while truck approached (also birds practically silent). Quality: 2. Level: +14. Parabola: 36". Then there's an alarm (or flight) scream, followed by a "crow" and altho I *think* it is granti, I'm not completely sure; it could be of marail. Quality: 2. Level: 0. Then there are more hoarse and liquid calls, als "soft"calls" that seem like those typical of granti, altho a bit thinner. Quality: 2. Level: +10. Then as truck came right up to us, a flight alarm scream by same bird that was giving the "soft call", this is quite clear. Quality: 2-3. Level: 0.
