NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 10. Bulk reel: 371. [Recording started at 520, continued at 550, continued at 600.] Weather: clear, moon. 5:20AM: 1 wing-whirr (this a.m. there is much display but not in my immediate area) Quality 2-3. Level: +14. Parabola: 36". 5:50AM: 1 wing-whirr. (In interim period heard occasional bits of voice that are definitely of granti.) Quality: 2-3. Level: +14. Parabola: 36". 6:00AM: 1 wing-whirr. There is a wing-whirr by a bird not too far away and then another by a bird that was apparently in tree behind me (on West side of the road) and which "flew" over me during the display. Assuming the bird started from that tree it's clear that it started the display very shortly after take-off, then afterwards it planed across the open space for quite some distance to a tree on E. side of road. It was followed a moment later by another bird (a female?) which planed across after the other. (There is voice comment about this.) Then I pointed the parabola in direction of where the bird landed and after approximately 40 seconds can be heard the sound of a bird flying, apparently leaving that tree and continuing on its way Then after approximately 2 minutes may be heard birds (2 birds) crowing in distance but I failed to note in field if could be of this bird or of bird in other directin. This went on for at least 7 minutes, but I saved only approx. 3 minutes of it. Quality: 1-2. Level: +14. Parabola: 36".
