Media notes

NOTES: Breeding status: TERRITORIAL PAIRED; T. E. ERYTHROCEPHALUS. NOTES BY J.F.M. HORNE: INITIALLY THERE IS ONE PAIR DUETTING; BUT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY A SECOND PAIR TAKES IT UP AND FOUR BIRDS CAN BE HEARD PRIOR TO NORTH'S ANNOUNCEMENT SAYING 'DIFFERENT PAIR'. AS IS OFTEN THE CASE WITH THIS SPECIES A SECOND PAIR TOOK IT UP. NOTE THAT THE OTHER BARBET (TRICHOLAEMA DIADEMATUM) IS VERY EVIDENT AT THE END. THE CAMAROPTERA BRACHYURA IS VERY DOMINANT THROUGHOUT.

Additional species

  • Green-backed Camaroptera Camaroptera brachyura
  • Lesser Striped Swallow Cecropis abyssinica
  • Rattling Cisticola Cisticola chiniana
  • Red-fronted Barbet Tricholaema diademata
