NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 265
Weather: Fair.
*I saw clearly that this was a Scythebill but could not identify as to species. However, this song is quite different from anything I've ever found from C. trochilirostris, and C. pusillus is not supposed to live in eastern Venezuela. Note, however, that this song is also different from the following cuts! Quality: 2. Level: -5.
This bird was calling like this in the distance. A whistled imitation brought it closer but I recorded only one song before it left. It was almost dark.
This song goes down the scale.
Note: I believe this identification is 100%. The phrase was just not complete.
