NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 13. Bulk reel: 263
4/V/66. 1630 hours. Weather: Fair. *In the north central part of Venezuela this species gives a "three-note call" (see Cuts 4, 5, 6, 14). In this area there is a different race and the bird looks a good bit different. I frequently heard a more complex call that I attributed to this species, although I could never see it give it. This call seems to replace the "three-note call." This cut gives one example of this complex call, obtained incidentally to recording Myrmeciza longipes, a song of which is heard immediately following the woodcreeper call. Quality: 3. Level: +5.
9/V/66. ~ 7:00 AM. Same location. Weather: Clear. The second call on this cut resulted while recording Sakesphorus canadensis. Quality: 2-3. Level: +5.
