    Equipment Note

This bird was unusually active, flying about seemingly unconcerned by presence of recordist. Calling from one perch, then another. At the beginning of the recording, no other birds were calling, but later another individual began. This recording compares the rate of calling when the trogon was and was not stimulated by the calls of another trogon.

This bird was a true "coppertail", whereas most of those seen by the recordist in El Salvador have been "green-tails".

Habitat: Small, densely wooded valley in the coastal foothills
