NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 20. Bulk reel: 220
Nest study. Weather: Fair.
6:30 - "Bother" (alarm, conflict?) calls, presumably by male ~ on flat area or slope to north of it. Quality: 3. Level: 0. Std.
(~ 2" blank tape).
6:40 1/2 - "Series purr" calls by male (presumably). Also some of the very similar calls of Trogon collaris from time to time answered by female from inside nest. Quality: 3. Level: 0.
(~2" blank tape) (male ~5' eliminated).
6:46 - Although male continued to call, female did not answer again until now. She answers several times from within nest. @ ~ 6:48 she emerged from nest and after brief delay gave her "I'm coming" call and walked slowly up through stage where various vocalizations are heard, pre-meeting and meeting, among these the "rally call" type (which may serve to inquire "where are you?"). Quality: 3. Level: -3.
Tape: 200. Copied N-IVs to N-4.2. Right channel only.
