NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 12. Bulk reel: 219Weather: Clear, fair.a) 6:29 - A quiet purr call, probably by female still in nest but perhaps by male. Then some "bother song" (alarm, conflict?) by male; after the first part of this the female emerged from nest and after the second part another quiet purr call is heard, probably by female now out of nest. Then some "chuckle" calls (modified rally calls?) as female ran up to meet male and then greeting vocalizations. (See separate notes.)Quality: 3+, Level: 0. Nagra SN, AKG mic. No parabola. Copied SN to N-4.2. 203 tape, 7.5. LN.b) 6:31 AM. Song by (single) bird down slope, then by a pair down slope, then by nesting (pair) from ~ flat area, from birds far to southwest. Then, after a minute or so (single) bird down slope sang again, then the pair (down slope), then the nesting (pair), then the single bird (down slope). At end is added another recording by (single) bird down slope. Quality: 2+. Level: +2. Nagra SN, AKG mic. No parabola. Copied SN to N-4.2. 208 tape, 7.5. LN.c) ~9:45 AM. Quiet vocalizations, presumably by male after female had returned to nest; also hear the noise in the ground litter caused by the scratching-foraging of the calling bird.Quality: 3. Level: 0. Nagra IVS, Senn 405. 36" parabola (pointed up through approach path to northeast (~ to flat area). 200 tape, 3 3/4. Std. Original recorded @ 7.5; copied left channel only from N-IV-S to N-4.2.
