NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 204; piping calls
Weather: Cloudy fair. These birds each dawn and dusk seem to travel considerable distances to their feeding areas or to their sleeping places. The present bird was apparently on its way to its feeding area. I first saw it as it alighted in full view on a tall tree and focused on it. It gave some "growls", then some louder calls, then normal calls, the some screams as it flew to another perch out of my sight behind some trees, but closer to me than when first seen. Then what was very likely the same individual flew to a smaller tree even closer to me and in full view. There it gave only "growls" (recorded). Quality: 1. Level: +5.
From there it flew to a tree right over my head where I collected it = female #4706. Others may be heard faintly in background in the last part. There's a prominent "hoot" of Momotus momota @ very end.
