This is a captive bird. Only portions of the recording are kept because of much background noise. This is a copy from N-IV to N-4.2 filtered at 0/500Hz. "Wing flap" repeated filtered to 200Hz.

Bird initiates song by bowing down head and apparently taking in a big gulp of air. This is followed as soon as straightens up by three "grunts" at very low volume. (It pulls head almost back into the body and the first "grunt" coincides with this movement. The next two "grunts" are accompanied by a definite contraction of the body, then after a pause, the main song sentence comes. Whether these should be considered part of the complete song I'm not sure, but I think they should, for they are always present even though of low amplitude. The second loud phrase is often omitted from the song sentence (both in this captive and in wild birds).
