NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 137
Weather: Light cloudy.
First, natural song by the pair, apparently the male is louder or more in focus. Birds far away and much noise from mountain stream. Quality: 3. Level: +5.
Then after playback, male in focus. Quality: 2. Level: +5.
Then after more playback, song and "bother churr" and more song.
Then male still closer. The second bird, which I think is very likely the female, seems still far away (which I think unlikely) or else sings a good bit lower volume besides being out of focus and also her song is higher in pitch and with less upward inflection at end of song, in early parts apparently without any and is much like M. campanisona but at much higher field. Quality: 1. Level: +2, +5.
This pair was then collected, the male first by net, then the female, shot as she would not come so close as the male. Male #6620, female #6619.
