NOTES: Recorded just upstream from the bridge at Stewart Campsite. A pair calling from trees and vegetation along creek bank. Calls differ in pitch between male and female. Background noise: stream. Also recorded pygmy owl at about 4.10-4.40.

[This recording contains 294 calls, apparently given by two birds (based both on the sounds and the available data). The calls given by the two birds are slightly different, but it is unclear whether all are examples of the Simple Call of BNA, or instead, if the calls of one bird are Initially Peaked Vocalizations that closely approach Simple Vocqalizations (see also Figure 3 of Smith, W. J. 1970. Song-like displays of Sayornis species. Behaviour 37: 64-84). Quality unchanged (2-3 - approaching 2, but with much river noise) - CAM - 4 April 2005]
