NOTES: Strata: SONG PERCH; Weather: WIND; BIRD MOVED HEAD FROM SIDE TO SIDE WHILE VOCALIZING. THIS MALE HAD A PREFERRED SINGING PERCH ABOUT 2M FROM A BLOOMING STYRAX ARGENTUS TREE THAT WAS ATTRACTIVE TO BEES, FLIES, WARBLERS, AND HUMMINGBIRDS. THIS RECORDING BEGINS WITH THE COURTSHIP SONG OF THE MALE AS HE HAD SUNGWITH ONLY SHORT INTERRUPTIONS SINCE 0550 HOURS. HIS SONG BECOMES IRREGULAR AND STOPS AS HE FLIES TO NEARBY FLOWERS. SOON HIS CHITTER NOTES ARE HEARD, WHICH HE UTTERS AS HE FLIES FROM FLOWER TO FLOWER. FOLLOWING DISTANT THUNDER, HE RESUMES HIS COURTSHIP SONG, BROKEN AT FIRST AND THEN REGULAR. SECOND GROWTH ALONG CUTS THROUGH CLOUDFOREST.
