Observation details
I was able to obtain a few recordings of a bird that practically lacks a tail (molting), very close to our camp. Seen feeding on that same fruiting tree that I’ve been observing them on for days (n=4 days in total; n= at least 6 different trees): https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/132945670 It seems easiest to see these guys close to camp. Farther in, when the forest gets taller and more closed, it’s more challenging, though still not too difficult. On a couple of occasions, I spotted them in the forest canopy, as though a typical flock of canopy tanagers.
