NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 47; Extra cut length: 5:53 BTime: 1:00 AM to ~ 2:00 AM. No parabola.a) After rain early in the night, it cleared about midnight and the moon was bright. I played through all the owls on the field tapes, sitting by my "camp" on the side of road. After quite some time I heard the song of this species from the edge of the woods across the clearing, ~ 30 m. away. I went there with the recorder and played the field tape again of this species. This is the song that resulted. It is different from the normal song but is similar to the last song of Cut #2, although @ a lower pitch. (Type B song.) Quality: 3. Level: +10.Then cont. @ 7.5". Quality: 3. Level: +10. 7.5 ips. Then I moved inside woods. The owl started to sing +/- its normal song but so softly it could hardly be heard. Then change back to 3 3/4". Gradually the song became more normal in Volume. Quality: 3, Level: +10; Quality: 2. Level: +10.This bird was then collected = (male #5183).[No other notes; just "a)"]
