NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 10. Bulk reel: 44
a) 1825 hours. I went to the same area as last night to observe what natural developments took place, arriving ~ 6:00 PM. ~ 6:15 PM a bird sang on south side, continued until about 6:30 PM. Quality: 2-3. Level: +10.
b) 1850 hours. About 6:40 PM one started singing on north side. Chronologically they could be the same owl, but I think they are the two low-voiced owls of last night. By ear and without direct comparison, their voices sound a bit higher than last night but this must be checked more closely. Quality: 1-2. Level: +10.
No high-voiced owl was heard but @ 7:00 PM started to rain and I was obliged to cease observations.
There was no playback but the second owl (north side bird) came closer by itself. It may be it became aware of my presence and had associated me with the "rival voice" of last night.
In background is heard rather prominently Grallaricula ferrugineipectus.
