NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 14. Bulk reel: 37
Natural "dawn song" being given in mid-afternoon. Quality: 2. Level: +5.
Three-note type and some two-note but all faster than normal, it seems.
then I moved closer. Quality: 1-2. Level: 0.
Then after playback of the last, the bird flew out across the big open space (the road) in bright sunlight, making a very spectacular sight with its vermilion face. It flew into the woods on other side and then started to sing, ~ the same but in very low voice, which became gradually louder. These are mostly two-note phrases but there are some of three notes.
The bird was then collected = male #6518.
