NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 3. Bulk reel: *I'm not sure of the identification but file this here on a hunch that it is this species. Quality: 3. Level: +10. [Recordist does not indicate type of microphone used.]These birds were some distance away. Two are heard. The louder one sings a song rather similar to one of the "dawn songs" of M. ruficollis, the other uses a different phrasing. The song of the louder bird then changes to just a three-note phrase and that of the other bird is then heard to be a two-note or one-note phrase. Then the louder bird apparently moved and seems to sing a two-note phrase.[See also Cut 12) of M. mirandollei.]
