    Equipment Note

NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 20. Bulk reel: 23
Weather: Fair, but cloudy to west; windy. Natural "four-note" (slow) song. Quality: 3+. Level: +3. 203 tape. LN.
There may be some correlation between the presence of this species and Ortalis ruficauda in this area, which seems quite high for both of them. (M. ruficollis was also present, but that is not unusual.)
Note: 15/6/73 This species heard @ Caicara (Rio Guarapiche), Monagas. Both the "slow" (ie daytime) song and the "dawn" song were heard during the night, the latter @ 0200 when I made the note just before retiring.
