NOTES: (Time: 1110-32. Gen. Climate: Arid, cyclic wet-dry. Gen. Habitat: Bushed woodland. Cover Density: Open, medium.) A new display was noted: Butterfly flight. This is a stilted flight with wings out, moving little, generally held in a wide "V", to a perch near another bird (conspecific, usually adversary; possibly to potential mate as well?). It also is possible that the displayer gapes, showing gape color! [Not greatly different from some barbet, e.g. Lybius torquatus, displays.]
