NOTES: LNS: This recording was originally archived as Cissilopha melanocyanea [=Cyanocorax melanocyaneus], but in her verbal notes, the recordist says that the recording is of Purplish-backed Jay, Cyanocorax beecheii. C. melanocyaneus does not occur in Mexico, while C. beecheii is endemic to western Mexico. Based on the recordist's verbal notes, and the ranges of the two species, the identification of this recording was changed from C. melanocyaneus to C. beecheii. -Matt Medler, 28 July 2009.
