NOTES: (Stim. for sound: Playback own song? Behav. Context: Annoyance? General Climate: Cyclic wet-dry. Cov. Density: Thick.) Area right next to the site of the first male Cocha Antshrike, a small grass-covered area. The wren worked its way around the perimeter, singing as it did. The bird seemed to prefer singing 1-2M from inside dense tangles or thick lower branches of trees. It may have been responding to inadvertent playback of its song in the background of the Cocha Antshrike playback. I don't know this for certain, but it was quite probable.
