NOTES: (Bkground sounds: Campephilus melanoleucos (drums - LNS 51358). Behav. Context: Annoyance. General Climate: Cyclic wet-dry. Cov. Density: Thick.) Individual Male #1. Location was near the property boundary cut encountered on Mandiyacu soon after leaving Mandicocha. Paul Greenfield has recordings of two song types from this species. This is the "slow" song type, which the bird was singing when we arrived. See Thamnophilus praecox recording LNS 51368 for another male which was singing the "fast" song type.
