NOTES: OTHER BEHAVIOR CONTEXT: courtship, pre-courtship, or territorial (Thick cover) NOTES ON DATA FORM: This cut includes a short series of calls (ML Notes: probably Advertising call "hoo" notes) and wing slapping after call. This behavior is mentioned in Eckert, Owls of N. A. and was described to me by Evelyn Bull from the La Grande Range and Science Lab. This wing slapping described by Eckert and Bull is part of the Long-eared owl courtship action and indicates mating will soon occur.
