[Most of the calls here appear to represent the "Squawk" Calls of young coots (at roughly two days of age based on Fig. 2c (left side) in Cosens, S. E. 1981. Can. J. Zool. 59: 1921-1928), but the soft "pops" appears to have been given by the adult (e.g., 0:435, 0:45, 0:47, 0:49, 0:52), these presumably representing the "puht" or "punt" Recognition Calls of parent-young contact described in BNA.
