NOTES: (Breeding Status: Not Breeding; Species Sound: Isolated; General Climate: Humid; Cover Den: med; Temperature: warm)

BNA: Probably Chattering or Chatter Call is heard (described as "rrr rrr" and "cuh cuh cuh cuh" repeated many times). Tapping is also heard. CZ 19/02/2004.

[Actually, I suspect these 15 sets of "chatters" instead represent the Territorial Call described as "kikarik" and shown in Figure 3B of BNA account, but I must admit that this is not a call with which I am at all familiar (see also LNS #62935). I further suspect that the Territorial Call, the Hyla versicolor-like Alarm Call, and the scolding "KRIT-tar-rah" described in the account all represent the same vocalization. The fall date and the fact that this is not a regularly occurring bird at this site suggests that this is NOT the Chatter Call, which is said to be given near the nest. There is also some soft tapping in the latter part of the recording. Quality changed from 2-3 to 2 (a bit of rumble but not too bad) - CAM - 21 April 2005]
