NOTES: Background: EOLOPHUS ROSEICAPILLUS (FLOCK CALLS); Weather: WIND; A SOMEWHAT STUTTERING CALL, APPARENTLY TO KEEP THE FLOCK TOGETHER. A BIRD WHICH HAD JUST ALIGHTED WOULD RAISE ITS CREST AND CALL. BIRDS WERE FEEDING ON THE GROUND, SITTING ON FENCE POSTS OR WIRE FENCES, FLYINGUP INTO LOW TREES, ETC. THE BIRDS DID NOT SEEM INTERESTED IN PLAYBACK, EVEN THOUGH CLOSE ENOUGH TO HEAR IT CLEARLY. NOT PARTICULARLY SHY, EVEN THOUGH AN OUTSTANDINGLY ATTRACTIVE BIRD AND ONE WHICH HAS BEEN CAUGHT IN GREAT NUMBERS OVER THE YEARS. GRASSY FIELD BORDERED WITH MALLEE(DWARF EUCALYPTUS TREES). LATE AFTERNOON. 45 ADULT(S)
