NOTES: IN ADDITION TO THE FAMILIAR 'BALL-TWO' CALL, THESE LITTLE DOVES HAVE SEVERAL SOFT, HOARSE VOCALIZATIONS. ALL ARE UTTERED WITH THE BILL CLOSED AND SEEM TO COME FROM A GREAT DISTANCE EVEN WHEN THE BIRD IS CLOSE. THE BIRD RECORDED HERE INCLUDED A 1 MALE(S)T TIMES SOME HEN-LIKE CLUCKS. THE OWNER OF THE HACIENDA INSISTED THAT I HAD RECORDED A HEN UNTIL I TOOK HIM TO LISTEN TO THE BIRD WHICH WAS STILL CALLING IN THE SAME FASHION. PASTURE-LANDS WITH THE HOMES OF WORKERS ON MANY KNOLLS OF AREA.
