NOTES: QUITE UNUSUAL FOR PIGEONS, THESE BIRDS WERE BROUSING IN A PASTURE BORDERING THE SEA, EATING A BIT OF GREEN, MOSTLY COPROSMA. THERE WERE 6 OR 8 GROUPS OF 8 TO 15 EACH. IN THE PASTURE WERE MATAGOURI BUSHES THROUGH WHICH COPROSMA VINES WERE GROWI ADULT(S); MALE(S); FEMALE(S)NG, AND THE BIRDS OFTEN PERCHED IN THESE BUSHES, APPARENTLY EATING BITS OF BOTH. AS BIRDS WERE APPROACHED THEY FLEW OFF. NO 'COOS' WERE HEARD DURING THE THREE-DAY STAY. 500HZ HIGH PASS FILTER.003944 69- 2
