NOTES: FOR SEVERAL NIGHTS 200-400 TREE-DUCKS SPENT THE NIGHT IN THE LIMITED AREA OF THIS STREAM AND ITS FLOODED BANKS. ONE MORNING I ARRIVED AT DAWN INTENDING TO RECORD THEIR DEPARTURE. A BAND OF ABOUT 30 DUCKS SPRANG UPWARD, CALLING LOUDLY. THIS BA Sex: 300 UNKNOWNND WAS FOLLOWED BY OTHERS. THE LAST BIRDS DID NOT VOCALIZE SO MUCH BUT THE SWISH OF THEIR WINGS IN THE RECORDING ANNOUNCES THEIR PASSAGE. I ESTIMATE 300 BIRDS PASSED OVERHEAD IN ONE MINUTE. SLUGGISH, WEED-CHOKED STREAM WITH FLOODED BANKS.
