NOTES: CLOUDFOREST LOPPED OFF AT 4M TO PROVIDE A VIEW. ALTHOUGH I HAD KNOWN THAT FEMALES OF THIS SPECIES UTTER A PLAINTIVE CRY WHEN THEIR NESTS OR YOUNG ARE THREATENED I ONLY SUSPECTED THAT MALES UTTERED THE SAME CRY. THIS MORNING I WAS ABLE TO IDENT 1 ADULT(S); MALE(S)?IFY A MALE BIRD CRYING BY ITS CLEAR ORANGE BILL. LATER THE BIRD SANG THUS CONFIRMING MY IDENTIFICATION (ASSUMING THAT ONLY MALES SING AND HAVE CLEAR ORANGE BILLS) - W.A. THURBER. FIELD GUIDES DO NOT SHOW SEXUAL DIMORPHISM IN THIS SPECIES - LNS.
