Sequence V recorded without a parabola at a distance of 15 meters when the bird was in loud song. In this sequence, the "tick tick trrrr" song was heard. At least three individuals were giving the same type of call in this swamp. Sequence VI was recorded with a parabola. Note that in this sequence, one, two and in one case, three, "tick" introductory notes are given.

BNA: The 24 vocalizations here all appear to be homologous to the "Kek-burr" of BNA account for Rallus longirostris, but it is unclear to which of the vocalizations discussed in account for R. elegans these refer (maybe the "purr" or "churr" given by females, but I doubt it.) (CAM - 5 April 2005)
