The male walked back and forth outside the box containing the young birds. Occasionally he sat as if brooding. The young birds tried to get out of the box but could not. While sitting, the notes from the male are especially loud and rapid. The male has been heard giving rapid notes like this before the young hatched. The high cheeps are the three young birds. Twice in the background the female gives a series of low, drawn-out notes.
