NOTES: (Species Sound or Social Contact: Family? General Climate: Humid. Cover Density: Open. Bias: II.) Higher pitched notes are Buthraupis aureodorsalis. Foraging on small isolated, moss-covered trees and shrubs in pasture. This is all the same flock although recording stops and starts as we followed them across the field. Finally, we tried to collect a bird, but they flushed and flew up a hill--perhaps 200 m. above us. Then, this recording was played back and to our surprise they responded. Two individuals were collected (1 at USNM; 1 at LSUMZ). Total elapsed time about 45 min. Best in middle. Birds flying and flight calls at end.
