NOTES: SEVERAL GROUPS OF 4 TO 8 MALE AND FEMALE TEAL WERE DISTURBED AROUND THIS 2-ACRE POND. MOST GROUPS HAD BUT 1 OR 2 FEMALE TEAL. EVERY FEW MINUTES A BIRD WOULD FLY UP FROM ONE GROUP AND LAND A SHORT DISTANCE AWAYAT ANOTHER GROUP, WHICH WOULD GREET IT WITH INCREASED WHEEZING. AT 2:02 OF THIS CUT, A BOBWHITE ABOUT 5M AWAY AT THE EDGE OF THE POND GAVE A SERIES OF PEEPS AND WHISTLES WHICH WERE PROBABLY IN RESPONSE TO MY INTRUSION. PERIODICALLY, INDIVIDUALS FROM A COVEY THAT MUST HAVE BEEN FEEDING IN THAT AREA WOULD SUDDENLY TAKE OFF AND FLY TO THE FIELD ACROSS THE POND. VERY SHALLOW PRAIRIE POND. 4-8 ADULT(S); MALE; FEMALE
