NOTES: PLAYBACK WAS ATTEMPTED AT THE END OF THE RECORDING SESSION USINGTHE LAST 3 RECORDED SONGS. PLAYBACK VOLUME WAS NOT LOUD ; NEVERTHELESS THE BIRD IMMEDIATELY FLEW DIRECTLY TOWARD THE RECORDER, BUT GREATLY OVERSHOT THE PLACE WHERE I WAS SITTING, AND CONTINUED TO SING AT THE SAME CADENCE FROM VARIOUS TREES BEYOND THE APPARENT RANGE OF PLAYBACK. WITHIN 5 OR 10 MINUTES, HE WOULD RETURN TO THE CENTRAL PART OF HIS TERRRITORY (WHERE I WAS SITTING); WHEREUPON HE COULD ONCE AGAIN HEAR MY WEAK PLAYBACK, AND HE WOULD ONCE AGAIN BEE-LINE DIRECTLY OVERHEAD PAST ME BEYOND PLAYBACK RANGE. OAK SHOULDER TO HEMLOCK RAVINE. LOW FREQUENCY FILTER USED.

[This represents exclusively song. Quality changed from 1-2 to 1-2, 2-1 - CAM - 6 January 2005]
