    Equipment Note

A bird singing like a champion and then flying away. I presume this is an adult male. I thought it could be a soft song of Turdus nigriceps or song of a young of that species, but later today we finally saw an adult male of P. melanonota uttering a song like this one. Note the imitations in the song! (eg, Vireo olivaceus, Poospiza erythrophrys, Myiodynastes maculatus, perhaps the call of Euphonia cyanocephala or Turdus nigriceps, etc.). Last segment is by far the best.
