NOTES: A COW DIED AND IMMEDIATELY THE BLACK VULTURES GATHERED, SOMETIMES OVER 100. ON THIS DAY, THE SECOND, THE VULTURES HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO TEARTHE TOUGH HIDE. THEY HAD TO WAIT UNTIL DOGS, FLIES, AND BACTERIA MADETHE INSIDES AVAILABLE. THE FIRST EPISODE RECORDED HERE WAS MADE WHILEA DOZEN BIRDS WERE GATHERED ABOUT THE CARCASS.THE SECOND AND LONGER WAS WHILE 23 BIRDS PERCHED IN A NEARBY DEAD TREE. MOST OF THE SOUNDS ARE QUILL RATTLING, WING FLAPPING, AND CLAW SCRAPING ON BARK. THE SOFT WUFF I BELIEVE TO BE A VOCALIZATION MADE WHEN CROWDED BY ANOTHER BIRD OR WHEN TAKING OFF. PASTURE WITH STREAM BORDERED BY TREES. Sex: 12-23 UNKNOWN
