A JAY CARRYING FOOD (A NUT?) LANDED ALMOST OVER ME IN A SMALL TREE. AT FIRST THE JAY UTTERED FAIRLY SOFT CONVERSATIONAL NOTES WHILE FEEDING- PERHAPS MAINTAINING CONTACT WITH OTHERS200M AWAY. THEN IT BEGAN PREENING, WIPING ITS BILL, AND CLEANING ITS TOES (SILENCE ON TAPE). SUDDENLY THE JAY SAW ME AND SCREAMED BUT DID NOT LEAVE. A PAIR OF MYIODYNASTES LUTEIVENTRIS BEGAN ATTACKING THE EXPOSED JAY. THEIR SOFT TWITTERS AND FLUTTER OF WINGS MARK THEIR ATTACKS. AFTER AN ESPECIALLY VICIOUS ATTACK (LOUDER NOTES) THE JAY LEFT (WING FLUTTER). 1 ADULT(S); Sex: UNKNOWN
