NOTES: Range status: NORMAL; Breeding status: UNKNOWN; Beh. context: UNKNOWN; Frequency of sound: NORMAL; General climate: CYCLIC WET-DRY; Cover density: MEDIUM; BIRD BEGAN TO SING SOFTLY IN DENSE UNDERGROWTH. I WASTED TIME TRYING TO IDENTIFY THE SONG STRANGE IN PATTERN AND QUALITY. AFTER RECORDING A FEW PHASES PRESENTED HERE, PLAYBACK OF THEM ATTRACTED VERY AGITATED ROBIN FROM A SITE NOT OVER 3M AWAY. THE GAIN WAS BOOSTED TO PICK UP WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A DISTANT SINGER. TO RESTORE AFFECT PLAY RECORDING AT BARELY AUDIBLE AMPLITUDE. THE HARSH RATTLE CAME FROM AN ORIOLE OVER 30M AWAY.
