This bird was not seen while recorded. The call clearly belongs to an Ochthoeca, and O. oenanthioides was seen later in the morning at the same spot where this recording was made. This call was given in flight at dawn, presumably as part of a flight display. Habitat: Humid Puna grassland and rocky outcrops.
