    Equipment Note

In the beginning of the recording, a single bird is being held stationary by the wind. Its tail is angled down at approx. 30 degrees in relation to its body. A second bird flies into the vicintiy of the first bird appearing from below the sight line of the ridge. The first bird chases it from right to left for approx. 60 ft. Both birds fly below the site line of the ridge and remerge shortly afterwards. The third and fourth bird fly in from right to left and join the first and second bird in the original area. At this point, it is unknown which birds are making calls and which are not. They are all intermittently positioning their bodies in a more vertical position while at the same time fluttering their wings. At approx. :40, two Round Island petrels fly within approx. 20 ft. of the tropicbirds. The petrels are a light morph chasing a dark morph. One of the petrels makes a call during the flyby.
