NOTES: A FLOCK OF ABOUT 25-40 OLIVE TANAGERS WERE OBSERVED IN CONJUNCTION WITH BI-COLORED ANTBIRDS AND ANT TANAGERS LOW TO THE GROUND IN BUSHY GROWTH UNDER WIDELY SPACED LARGE TREES AROUND AN ARMY ANT SWARM (E. BURCHELLI?). CARDINIAL-LIKE SONG IS ALSO RECORDED. THIS EVIDENTLY WAS NOT TERRITORIAL IN NATURE BUT INDICATES AN APPROACHING BREEDING SEASON.

ML: Background subject changed from Gymnopithys leucaspis to G. bicolor to reflect current taxonomy. -Jay McGowan 24Nov2014.
